The new MT series from Werner combines the durability of a heavy duty type 1A, 300 pound duty rating with true versatility. A single ladder can be easily converted to a double sided stepladder of variable heights or an adjustable extension ladder. When set up as a stepladder the duty rating of 300 pounds is per side to allow two people on the ladder at the same time. Height is adjusted quickly with spring loaded “J” Locks. Steps are double riveted and the side rails are smooth and curved for comfort. Included at no additional charge with each ladder is a set of hinges to allow the ladder to be separated and set up as two stepladders, a plank can be suspended between the two ladders to create scaffolding. A storage case is also included for the hinge set.

$199 at Amazon is a steal for this ladder. One thing that you can’t tell from the spec’s is how stable and safe it feels. I gave it five stars because of the value for money, but I do have a one star niggle - it’s a bit heavy. I’m 6′2″ and 225lb, and moving it around fully extended is an effort. Maybe that’s just me getting old, so five stars it is…
