Playhut Thomas the Tank Train Engine Play Tent

Young conductors will definitely be all aboard this twist and fold Thomas the Tank Engine tent. Featuring EZ Twist’s patented twist-and-fold technology, the tent sets up instantly and, when fully folded again, stores in a small included bag that’s no larger than a grocery sack. The only assembly (and it’s not even required) is to attach the inflatable steering wheel to Velcro toggles. Once the freestanding train is up, preschoolers and toddlers can place chairs inside to take them on imaginary rides around Sodor Island or dream up a slew of other creative play scenarios. Slip a sleeping bag inside the large (52″L x 26″W x 38″H) hideaway structure and kids can even extend their daytime adventures into naptime escapades.

The bright blue, red, yellow and black two-cube engine has a sunroof so little heads can look ahead for any dangers on the track, a tunnel port for crawling through, and swinging side door access for realistic play. The lightweight material and compact storage makes this tent very portable, allowing kids to take something familiar to new places — or the grandparent’s house.

We got this for our son at least four years ago, maybe five. Both our kids still play with it frequently. We misplaced the detachable smokestack somewhere along the way, but that’s no big deal. It’s held up suprisingly well considering the amount of playtime, and it nicely folds flat when it’s time to store it away again.

Strathwood Camano Wicker Sofa

Strathwood produces a handsome collection of wicker furniture for outdoor use. Generous enough for two to curl up on, the seat of this mocha brown sofa measures 54-by-24 inches, and features an extra-thick, four-inch cushion. The body of the chair is tightly woven of flat strips of synthetic wicker, including the right-angled arms and straight back, with a modest sheen that sheds drizzle or drips. Block-wood legs and metal reinforcement under the seat provide increased durability and strength.

Adding finesse to the look and comfort of the armchair is the natural-white seat cushion. The 100 percent cotton cover unzips in the back to remove for cleaning, while the polyurethane foam insert retains its give and shape over time. The sofa looks particularly elegant in a sunroom or covered deck when grouped with the matching wicker lounge chairs and coffee table. No assembly is required.

I ordered 4 of these chairs for my very casual dining area. They are lightweight but extremely sturdy, comfortable, and the seats are generously sized. There is no wobbling or feeling of looseness. These are great chairs. We ordered 4 of them (2 packs of 2) and one of the packs looked battered, and sure enough the chairs inside were slightly damaged. I was able to fix it with a little wood glue, though. They are very comfortable.
